East Union is rolling into its first Valley Oak League game of the season behind a three-game winning streak after crushing Central Valley 70-45 Wednesday at Dalben Center.
The Lancers (11-6) have beaten their last three opponents by double-digit margins and begin league play Friday back at home against rival Sierra.
Leading the charge Wednesday on both ends was Dylan Lee, who poured in 26 points while holding Central Valley’s top scorer, Gage Mastropierro, to just two points.
“That’s a kid that averages 18-plus points and is a phenomena player,” East Union coach Dutch Ell said. “Dylan took his assignment in stride. I am very proud of our boys. We rebounded the ball incredibly well.”
Anthony Sy contributed with 13 points. Alex Cuevas scored nine and was also key on defense.
“Great energy across the board from the squad,” Ell said. “They knew what had to be done tonight, and they went out and did it.”
