Manteca rolls over Lathrop

Manteca kept up a relentless attack from the opening kickoff to the final buzzer Friday and defeated host Lathrop 48-6 in Valley Oak League sophomore action at Bennie Gatto Field.

 Gerson Gomez had three touchdowns for the Buffaloes – one receiving, one rushing and one on an interception return. Cameron Beamon (110 yards rushing) had a touchdown, Rafael Calzada ran for two and Gino Campiatti threw for two.

 The Spartans turned the ball over five times in the first quarter and never recovered. Devyn Gonzalez led the Manteca defense with nine tackles and a fumble recovery, Tyler Welch  had seven stops, Will Maddox and Francisco Salcedo five apiece and Joey Goodman two sacks. 

 

Kimball 35, East Union 0

 The Jaguars scored 21 points in the second half.

 Jake Harries led the Lancers offense and teammate Jaysen Reindel had five tackles, two of which were for a loss.

Oakdale 38,
Weston Ranch 6

 Charles Jemison returned a Mustangs kickoff 73 yards in the fourth quarter for the lone Cougars touchdown.

 Jeremiah Holman led the Weston Ranch defense with 12 tackles followed by James Walker and Brock Chandler with nine apiece, Gabriel Ramos and Javier Ramos with eight each, Malik Vegatatum seven, Jemison and  Felix Pitts six apiece and De’Jon Chambers, Derrick Dickerson, Andrew Paragas and Nick Patterson all had five stops each.

 Walker and Tyrell Duncan led the Cougars defense.
