Manteca’s girls tennis team continued its roll in the Valley Oak League with Tuesday’s 7-2 victory at Weston Ranch.
The Buffaloes improved to 8-0 in the VOL, 12-3 overall.
Weston Ranch earned its points in the second and third doubles matches.
Manteca’s No. 2 tandem of Alondra Avila and Kaitlyn Hoyer hung tough with Weston Ranch’s Jennifer Contreras and Kim Vallarderos before Avila retired with an injury. Scores were 6-7 (5-7), 3-4 at the time of the injury.
April Vang and Mary Vang got to finish out their competitive contest with Haylee Both and Megan Gonzales. The Cougar pair prevailed, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. Ashlee Miller and Katie Inderbitzin rolled to a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles.
Sealy McAdams won a three-set match at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 4-6, 6-1. She defeated Donica Ramos. Julia Saling had to work for her sweep of Preet Kaur, 6-4, 7-5.
Others contributing points for Manteca were Liz Diaz (6-1, 6-3), Elizabeth Tolbert (6-0, 6-1), Fechi Nkwocha (6-4, 6-0) and Allison Rachels (6-2, 6-3).
