Kaitlynn Funsch continued her scoring binge for the week, tallying the first two goals of Manteca’s 6-1 rout of Weston Ranch in Valley Oak League girls soccer action Thursday.

Funch scored five times in the Buffaloes’ 6-3 victory over Lathrop on Tuesday. Thursday’s contest was part of Manteca’s annual Kicking for a Cure event. Money raised from this year’s contest will go to the family of 11-year-old Emma Lockwood, who suffers from Ewings Sarcoma cancer.

Madison Burch, Alejandra Delgadillo, Alexa Mayen and Carly Morrish also contributed to the scoring for the Buffaloes (10-1-2, 18-4-2 overall), who are alone in second place in the Valley Oak League heading into their regular-season finale at East Union next Tuesday.

Selena Landin capped the final score with a free kick for Weston Ranch (0-11-1, 3-18-2). Aliyah Guerrero had 15 saves.
