Chris Schmitz led Sierra for a second straight day, and the Timberwolves completed their season sweep of Manteca High 227-242 Wednesday at Manteca Park Golf Course.

Schmitz finished 6-over 43 on the par-37 front nine, but medalist honors went to Manteca standout Justin Morrish who was two strokes better. Manteca’s Brandon Ramirez also scored a 43.

Only five strokes separated Sierra’s No. 1 and No. 5 scorers, which made the difference for the Valley Oak League’s third-place squad. Matt Rose and Blake Settlemoir each carded a 45, Chuck Good chipped in a 46 and Isaac Gutierrez added a 48.

Following Morrish and Ramirez for the Buffaloes (4-8) were Gus LaDue (49), Donal Hinkston (54) and Ray Gallardo (55).

Manteca has a tough stretch to end the regular season, as it meets league-leading Sonora on the road and second-place East Union at home next week. Sierra (8-4) closes with Weston Ranch and Kimball.
