Weston Ranch was able to continue its unblemished opening to the Valley Oak League season, blasting East Union 9-0 Thursday in a one-sided league win.

The victory set up a matchup between two VOL unbeatens, as the Cougars (4-0) play host to the Kimball Jaguars Tuesday. The winner of the meeting will take control of the league standings.

Weston Ranch got dominant singles play from Kevin Yamayoshi (6-3, 6-1), Suhkman Singh (6-3, 6-1) and Carl Legaspi (6-1, 6-1) to set the tone.

Doubles didn’t have any drop off as Andre Albino and Adrian Andrade teamed up for a 6-0, 6-1 win, while Ion Ibiso and Tejpaul Baniwail 6-1, 6-0. Mark Legaspi and Jesse Nisperos also had a straight set win, 6-1, 6-0. Josh Gonzales was perfect in his singles win 6-0, 6-0 over Lathrop’s Chris Rodriguez.

The match with Kimball Tuesday is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start at Weston Ranch.
