Dolphins outpoint Oakdale to improve to 1-1 in MVSL

The Manteca Dolphins evened their Mid-Valley Swim League record to 1-1 with their 2,053-915 drubbing of the outgunned Oakdale Gators Saturday at East Union High.

Eight Dolphins shined with three wins apiece in individual events.

In the 6-under divisions, Mia Lopez (50 free, 25 fly, 25 breast) and Sawyer Beckham (50 free, 25 back, 25 free) were the team’s top performers.

Giovanni Padilla (100 IM, 100 free, 50 fly) led the way at 9-10 boys, Ashlea Green (100 IM, 50 back, 50 free) did damage at 11-12 girls, Vanessa Flores (100 free, 50 fly, 50 free) in 13-14 girls, Scott Tolman (100 IM, 100 free, 50 breast) in 13-14 boys, Natalie Randolph (100 IM, 100 free, 50 back) in 13-14 girls, and Victoria Ramos (100 IM, 50 breast, 50 free) in 17-18 girls.

Earning first-place points in two individual events were: Emma Ayers (25 breast, 25 free) in 7-8 girls, Hayden Beier (25 fly, 25 back) in 7-8 boys, Mallory Brubaker (100 free, 50 fly) in 11-12 girls, Ben Volz (100 IM, 50 fly) and Brooks Cannon (100 free, 50 back) in 11-12 boys, Austin Welch (50 fly, 50 free) in 13-14 boys, Michaela Ramos (50 fly, 50 free) in 15-16 girls, Simon Marquez (100 free, 100 breast) in 15-16 boys and Serena Wood (50 fly, 50 back) in 17-18 girls.

Winning one event were: Ashlynn See (50 free) and Delaney Brubaker (25 fly) in 7-8 girls, Donovan Armstrong (50 free) in 7-8 boys, Kelly Ball (50 fly) in 9-10 girls, Kealani Fatta (50 breast) in 11-12 girls, Olivia Higby (100 IM) and Hannah Estrella  (50 back) in 13-14 girls, Johnny Buonauro (50 back) in 13-14 boys, Anjeleah Gotuing (50 breast) in 15-16 girls) and Christian Sevilla (100 IM) in 15-16 boys.

The Dolphins next head to Oakdale for the Oakdale Invitational Saturday.
