Angel Volk and Bradee Jeffrey got hard-earned, three-set wins on Thursday, helping East Union notch its first Valley Oak League victory of the season 7-2 against visiting Weston Ranch.

Jeffrey won the longest match of the day, holding off Elaine Pasqual 6-1, 6-7 (7), 10-8 in the No. 5 singles match. At the No. 5 spot, Volk outlasted Carly Burks, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2.

Erica Canas defeated Karmen Basra 7-5, 6-1 in the battle of No. 1s. Isabel Moreno (6-0, 6-4) prevailed at No. 2. Weston Ranch’s wins came from No. 4 Justice Stitt (6-3, 6-3) and No. 6 Angelee Rivera (6-3, 6-3).

It was all Lancers in doubles action.

The No. 1 tandem of Nicole Bueno and Carmen Tantoros combined for a 6-0, 6-4 swept. Hailey Gosney and Nadia Cadona tallied a 6-0, 6-0 shutout. Julia Telles and Giana Telles prevailed, 6-0, 6-1.

Manteca 9, Kimball 0

TRACY — It was another lopsided win in favor of the VOL-leading Buffaloes (6-0, 8-1).

Julia Tang beat Maxine Jacque 6-4, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Koryn Menasco (6-1, 6-0), Taylor Corona (6-0, 6-0), Makenna Condit (6-0, 6-0), Sahiba Kaur (6-1, 6-0) and Stephanie Mercado (6-0, 6-0) were other singles winners.

Winning doubles matches were Ravneet Dhillon/Navina Mann (6-2, 6-1), Julianne Eavenson/Kaileah Johannson (6-0, 6-2) and Noeli Mercado/Melissa Poncini (6-0, 6-0).

The Timberwolves remain a match back of Manteca with their landslide victory.

Kaitlyn Rausa (6-0, 6-0), Nadia Petrovic (6-1, 6-1), Ellie Kim (6-0, 6-2), Melanie Nguyen (6-1, 6-1), Sydney Huynh (6-2, 6-3) and Natlie Rootsaert (6-1, 6-2) picked up singles points.

Alyssa Patterson/Amaya Baluyut (6-2, 6-1), Xochitl Torres/Seerit Gill (6-2, 6-0) and Diana Duenas/Joyce Sebastian (6-0, 6-0) won at doubles.
