East Unions Watson takes first in girls discuss

Maliah Watson from East Union won the girls discus and finished second in the shot put Saturday in the Delta Mustang Invitational at the Merv Smith Track Complex on Stockton.

 Watson had distances of 109 feet, 3 inches in the discus and 34-5 ½ in the shot put. Lancers teammate Katelyn Allen finished second in the 300-meter hurdles (48.10 seconds)

 Picking up silver medals from Lathrop were Sophia Serrano in the 100 hurdles (16.88), Elijah Hunter in the shot put (44-0), the girls 1600 relay (4:29.72) and boys 400 relay (44.93).

 Lathrop’s Horatio Venable finished third in the long jump (20-0) as did Spartans teammates Nathan Ogunbanwo in the shot put (43-9), Elijah Hunter in the discus (114-2) and the boys 1600 relay (3:46.40). Sophie Williams of East Union was third in the 400 (1:02.24).

 East Union’s Darian Joseph was fourth in the 100 (11.38) as was Spartans teammate Isaias Hunter in the triple jump (40-2) and East Union’s Danya Phillips in the girls 800 (2:37.27).

 Finishing fifth from Lathrop were Zack Ormonde in the 400 (53.79), Tarik Steen in the 3200 (10:48.90) and Laury Diboki in the long jump (15-10). 

 The Spartans finished fifth-sixth-seventh in the girls 3200 with all three girls – Victoria Lanzarin (13:53.97), Marisol
