Kelsey Emerson was unstoppable for the East Union sophomore softball team Wednesday in a 19-2 win over Central Valley.

The Lancer freshman went 5 for 5 at the plate with a home run and eight RBIs.

Emerson was so hot at the dish, she took her last hack left handed and drilled a shot up the middle.

“She’s sees the ball really well,” EU skipper Ronnie Tiscareno said. “She hits fast pitching well and adjusts to slower speeds.”

But Emerson wasn’t alone.

Cherrise Martin went 2 for 3, Salina Tiscareno was 3 for 3, and Blanca Seguera rapped a double.

EU (11-4 VOL, 18-7) closes with a home contest under the lights against Manteca Friday.

Oakdale 7, Manteca 3
Danielle Deerinck and Sierra Garcia pitched valiantly, but it wouldn’t be enough as the first-place Mustangs continued to roll.

Tessa Solario and Dallas Mould both doubled and drove in a run.

Manteca wraps up the season with a road trip to East Union Friday.

Freshman
Sierra 13, Sonora 7
Brianne Lenoci went 4 for 4 from the dish, driving in four runs and struck out five in relief to collect the win.

Lily Gonzales and Shelby Shirron collected two knocks each.

Sierra improved to 13-3-1 overall and 5-2 in league play.

A home contest with Weston Ranch will be Sierra’s last of the season Friday at home.
