Emmerson nails for Squires in DH sweep

Kelsey Emmerson was fantastic for the East Union sophomore softball team in a double-header sweep Wednesday at Northgate Park.

EU knocked off Lathrop 11-4, before downing Sierra, 3-1, in the nightcap.

Emmerson started against Lathrop and lasted seven, allowing five hits and striking out five while going 4 for 4 with three doubles and two RBIs.

Against Sierra, Emmerson was 2 for 3.

Jessica Lavoie went 2 for 4 with a double against Lathrop while Cassandra Allen was 2 for 4 and Kalyn Delao went 3 for 4.

Cherisse Martin hit a double in the nightcap, and Blanca Seguera was 2 for 3.

Jenny Ketner struck out nine T’Wolves.

EU (9-4 Valley Oak League, 16-7) heads to Weston Ranch Friday.

Among the Buffalo offensive highlights, Mia Ramirez, Tara Dadasovich and Savanna Reed all had a single and an RBI.

Rochelle Perez had two knocks and two batted in, Cassandra Gonzalez added two more hits and an RBI, and Aimee Douglas doubled.

Danielle Doorinck collected the win.

Haleigh Castner allowed six hits and struck out seven in the win.

Kailee Nuding was 3 for 4 and Stephanie Booke was 2 for 4.
