GIRLS HOOPS: Indians ride strong start to blowout win

MOUNTAIN HOUSE — Ripon opened on a 15-0 run and coasted from there in a 58-32 rout of Valley in the Mountain House Tournament on Friday.
Mikayla Vaught had another strong showing from the field, making four 3s en route to finishing with 14 points. Tianna Sidtikun finished with 10 points, while Molly Burton and Mackenzie Hutchison pumped in eight apiece.
Sidtikun and Hutchison ignited the Indians’ first-quarter onslaught, scoring seven and six points, respectively. Vaught took over from there; firing eight points in the second quarter as Ripon (5-3) built a comfortable 34-15 halftime lead.
Ten different players scored for the Indians, who wrap up the tournament today at noon against Sonora. Charmaine Wiggins paced Valley (2-6) of Sacramento with 14 points.

Oak Ridge 59, Manteca 38
STOCKTON — Oak Ridge outscored the Buffaloes (5-3) 16-4 in the second period and led 36-19 at halftime in this Trojan Clash Classic semifinal at Lincoln High.
Manteca had a chance to cut the deficit to 10 in the third quarter but could not overcome the versatile and sharpshooting Trojans (6-1) from El Dorado Hills.
Kyaira Jacobs and Jayda Jackson tallied 16 and nine points to lead Manteca, which plays Pitman for third place today at 2.
