HILMAR — The last time Hilmar and Ripon met was in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division V final last season, with the latter prevailing 1-0 in an overtime thriller.
The rematch wasn’t much of one.
Freshman Ellie Everhart etched her name in the program record books, and Ripon established itself as the top team in the Trans-Valley League with a lopsided 4-0 win against the reigning champion.
Everhart tied the school record for fastest goal scored when she gave the Indians (2-0 TVL, 7-3 overall) the lead just 42 seconds into the match. Aubree Pelon assisted the goal and later notched another for her team-leading 11th for the season. Rachel Marcus also scored 42 seconds into a match in a non-league win over Manteca back in 2003, according to assistant coach Bryce Perkins.
Freshman Haley Petersen had goals in the 37th and 55th minutes, and Arianna Scholten struck in the fifth. Ripon had an overwhelming 13-1 shot advantage by halftime when it led 3-0. Ashley Pugh finished with four saves.
The Indians carry a four-match winning streak into their next game against visiting Riverbank on Tuesday.
