GIRLS SOCCER: Sierra secures 4th straight VOL title

Sierra locked up its fourth consecutive Valley Oak League girls soccer championship and 16th overall on senior night Monday with a 4-0 win over Central Catholic at Daniel Teichiera Memorial Stadium.
The Timberwolves (10-0, 20-1 overall) remain unbeaten in league play and have two regular-season games left. They'll next head across town to face playoff-bound East Union.
Tiana Cello scored twice in Sierra's latest victory that featured 35 shots from the home side. Senior Julianne Munoz also netted a goal along with Preeya Singh. Nicole Martin and Zoe Willson each had an assist.

Kimball 2, East Union 1
TRACY— The Lancers' hopes of a second-place finish in the VOL, and a more favorable postseason seed, took a big hit at Don Nicholson Stadium.
Cynthia Romero found Thania Valencia for East Union's equalizing goal, but Kimball (7-2-1, 13-7-1) jumped back ahead after finishing a through ball. Malia Allen had five saves.
East Union (6-4, 8-8-2) is in fourth place and has a tough closing stretch with rivals Sierra and Manteca visiting for its final two matches.

Oakdale 7, Weston Ranch 0
Weston Ranch (0-10 VOL, 0-16-2 overall) struggled to defend against Oakdale (3-7, 6-8-2) and the strong gusts. Goalkeepers Evelyn Soria and Kehura Ellerbe picked up three and eight saves, respectively.

Sierra 12, Central Catholic 0

The Timberwolves had 12 different goal scorers in the blowout: Becca Thomson, Emmi Patton, Michelle Barbosa, Symone Panigada, Peyton Flores, Nathalya and Nayleen Yamamoto, Larissa Phillips, Kyndall Wesley, Giselle Garcia, Maria Barajas and Annika Beall.
Lela Schuler pitched in with two assists, while Yamamoto, Panigada, Garcia, Phillips and Perez contributed one each.

East Union 1, Kimball 0
Brittney Barrington converted off a corner kick for the deciding goal.
