Jimi Guibor racked up 16 saves Thursday afternoon at Guss Schmiedt Field, but that was the lone bright spot, as Manteca couldn’t scratch out a goal in a scoreless tie with Central Valley.

“it was one of those days when we didn’t play well in any aspect of the game,” Manteca head coach Justin Coenenberg said. “One of our goals this year was to win games we were supposed to win, and this was definitely one we felt we should have won.
“This one hurts.”

Manteca (6-4-2 Valley Oak League, 12-5-3) heads to Oakdale Tuesday before hosting EU Thursday.

Sonora 6, Weston Ranch 0
In Weston Ranch, the Wildcats took a 4-0 lead into the break.

“We had some good shots on goal and just missed,” Cougars head coach Carlos Gaspar said. “Sonora looked good.”

The Cougars played without any substitutes.

Weston Ranch heads to Ceres Thursday.
