Cowan, Campbell pace East Union to VOL win over rival Manteca

East Union’s girls golf team nearly garnered all of the individual league points in its 248-284 victory over Manteca at Manteca Park Golf Course on Tuesday.
Leading the charge was fourth-year senior Natalie Cowan, the match’s medalist with a 9-over-par 46. Kendra Campbell and Hayley Leonard were close behind with a 47 and 49, respectively. Kennedy Goodnough added a 51, and Presley Graham a 55.
Taylor Reed was the lone placer for Manteca (1-2). She took fifth with a 53 and was followed by Meghan Garlets (56), Bella Gonzales (57) and Alyssa Gutierrez (58). Kyllee Eberle and Michaela Pangburn each carded a 60.
East Union, which improved to 2-1, heads to Van Buskirk Golf Course in Stockton to face Weston Ranch on Thursday. Manteca will host Central Catholic.
