Ripon’s girls basketball team snapped a four-game skid with a 53-41 Trans Valley League victory over Orestimba on Thursday night.

The Indians (2-4 TVL, 6-11 overall) were led by senior Kelsey Alexander’s 17 points and nine rebounds.

“We played better today,” Ripon head coach George Contente said. “We keep improving. We committed a few too many turnovers than what we expect, but we’ll keep working at it.”

Ripon will work on taking care of the basketball during Saturday night’s 4th Annual Hoops For A Cure Classic against East Union slated for 7 p.m.

The Indians also received 10 points from senior Morgan Carrico, who also grabbed five boards to go with two steals against Orestimba (0-6, 4-15).

Julia Victor had six points, six rebounds and four steals, while Melanie Wilkerson finished with six points, two rebounds and two steals. Sophomores Jill Jamero and Ellie Waters each chipped in with five apiece.
