Ripon High improved its Trans-Valley League record to 2-0 with a lopsided 69-6 victory over Orestimba High Wednesday in Ripon.

Ripon was impressive in nearly each weight-class, recording 10 pins in the 14 different weight classes.

“They did a really good job tonight,” Ripon head coach Glen White said. “We’ve got a bunch of kids that work really hard; they come to practice every day and they are just trying to get better.

“We’ve been able to get some better athletes out this year, and it’s easier to coach kids that are already good athletes.”

Gabe Barnett (106-pound), Brent White (120-pound), Corey Goodwin (132-pound), Colton Rogers (138-pound), Taylor Fugit (152-pound), Trevor Daniel (160-pound) Tyler Swortfiguer (170-pound), Trevor Smith (182-pound), Samuel Beeler (220-pound) and heavyweight Jordan Sullivan all notched pins for the Indians in the win. Sullivan’s was the fastest, earning his fall in just 30 seconds.

The Indians will be back on the mat in TVL action Jan. 4 when they travel to Salida to take on Modesto Christian.
