Jr. T’wolves tandem run wild against Lodi Titans

LODI — Jordan Serbousek and Tommy Perea combined for four touchdowns and more than 300 rushing yards on Saturday as the Manteca Jr. Timberwolves varsity edged the Lodi Titans 38-30 at Tokay High School in Central Valley Youth Football and Cheer action. 

Serbousek (20 carries 164) had touchdown runs of 3, 5 and 10 yards and Perea (20 carries, 160 yards) scored from 16 yards out. Fernando Alaniz added a 3-yard touchdown run and four two-point conversion kicks. 

Perea made 17 tackles, Alaniz (fumble recovery) 12, Serbousek (interception) 10, Anthony Garcia and Harley Hensley six apiece, Gabe Valadez and DeKaylon Middleton (forced fumble) four. David Diaz forced a fumble. 


Junior varsity

Cowboys 40, Warriors 0

Izik Quezada scored two touchdowns for Manteca to lead a balanced attack.

Quezada (seven carries, 74 yards) had touchdown runs of 3 and 36 yards. Blake Mount (five carries for 63 yards, two receptions for 27 yards) had pulled in a 20-yard touchdown throw from Anthony Morales; Quinn Martinez (nine carries, 78 yards) scored on an 11-yard run; Jeremy Ap’e had a 14-yard touchdown run and Dylan Stonum scored from 62 yards out. Damien Reese tallied 35 yards on three carries. 

Christopher Gallego, Gavin Goodwin and Isaac Alvaraz led the Cowboys with nine tackles each followed by Jeremy Ap’e 8 and Brandon Sena with eight stops each, Santana Stevenson and Joshua Reyes with seven; Stonum (interception), Maricio Zaupa and Quezada six apiece; Robbie Espinoza, Mount and Isaih Amada five apiece and Damian Reese four. 

The Cowboys varsity won by forfeit.


Jr. Timberwolves 53, Titans 13

Six different Manteca players scored the first six touchdowns in a very balanced attack.

Juju Moncada (six carries, 139 yards) scored on a 54-yard run; Ivan Huerta (two 2 carries, 80 yards) scampered 75 yards for a score; Acie Matthew (two carries , 47 yards) scored on both of his carries from 17 and 30 yards out; Gage Pfeifer (six carries, 50 rushing yards) had a 4-yard touchdown run), Nickolas Garcia (three carries,52 yards) raced 40 yards for a score and Micah Cardoza (two carries, 32 rushing yards) scored from 24 yards out. Luis Rosas Jr. added 58 yards on four carries. 

Ivan Huerta (eight tackles) and Pfeifer (six tackles) each forced a fumble, Isiah Alcocer and  Cardoza made five tackles each, Rosas Jr. (fumble recovery) and Owen Gully had four stops apiece with three each for Noah Navarro and Xavier Flores.


Rookies

Cowboys 58, Warriors 0

Manteca’s Ricky Soria scored all three times he touched the ball.

Soria (three carries, 50 yards) had touchdown runs of 2, 20 and and 28 yards. Julian Ramirez (two carries, 55 yards) scored on his two carries of 27 and 28 yards; Nicco Juarez (three carries, 74 yards) made 25- and 47-yard touchdown runs; Elias Lopez (two carries, 72 yards) scored on a 60-yard run and Daryl Carpenter’s one carry was good for a 25-yard touchdown run. 

Julian Ramirez led the Cowboy defense with seven tackles and two forced fumbles. Juarez (fumble recovery), Julián Constance and Andrew Estrada made three stops apiece and D.J Bass Jr. recovered a fumble. 


Timberwolves 39, Titans 6

Manteca’s Albert Menchaca scampered 48 yards for a touchdown on the first play of the game and the Timberwolves never looked back.

Menchaca (15 carries, 159 yards) added touchdown runs of 7 and 49 yards and Madden Melendez (14 carries, 141 yards) tallied touchdown runs of 2, 41 and 68 yards. Maddox Morales had 27 yards on three carries and Kendall Sweet-Mallory had 26 yards on two carries.

Brody Carabello and Sweet-Mallory made six tackles each,  Tino Torres and Maddox Morales added five stops a piece and Menchaca, Gilbert Luiz, and Joey Aucello each made three tackles a piece. Eric Vaquera and Liam Ellis both had a fumble recovery.

Cowboys 33, Warriors 0

Five Manteca runners scored in the shutout win.

Bryant Lewis (five carries, 95 yards), Terrence Montgomery (three carries, 65 yards), Giovanni Perry (three carries, 23 yards), Jonathan Morales (one carry, 49 yards) and Isaac Estrada (one carry, 35 yards) each made a Cowboys touchdown.

Montgomery led the Manteca defense with 12 tackles followed by Erian Johnson Jr. (fumble recovery), Isacc Estrada (interception) and Devin Cortinas with eight apiece and Lewis with six.

 

Jr. Timberwolves 20, Titans 8

Manteca’s Blake Scalise and Rudy Torrez each carried the ball only three times apiece but they combined for nearly 200 yards and scored a touchdown apiece.

Blake Scalise (three carries, 84 yards) scored on a 59-yard run and Rudy Torrez (three carries, 89 yards) had a 45-yard scoring run. Jordan Rossi 2-yard touchdown reception and Santino Sanchez made 18 yards on three carries.

Sanchez made 10 tackles, Noah Bocanegra (fumble recovery) and Manoah Ellis six each and Navi Murillo (fumble recovery) and Scalise five apiece.
