Ketner strikes out 10 as Squires drop Central Valley

Jenny Ketner tossed a one-hit gem Friday night, striking out 10 as the East Union sophomore softball team waltzed past Central Valley, 12-0, in five.

Jessica Lavoie was 3 for 3 with a triple and three RBIs, and Salina Tiscareno went 2 for 3.

Cherisse Martin was 2 for 3, as was Kelsey Emmerson (RBI).

East Union improved to 5-2 in Valley Oak League play, and 10-5 overall.

East Union 10, Weston Ranch 0 (Wednesday)

Ketner was even more impressive Wednesday, sending down 12 Cougars by way of strikes in a no-hitter.

Tiscareno went 2 for 3, as did Lavoie (2B, 2 RBIs).
Blanca Segura roped and RBI double.

East Union hosts Sonora Tuesday.

Oakdale 11, Manteca 9

The Mustangs halted Manteca’s VOL win-streak at five with a tight, two-run win.

Tessa Solario was 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI, and Mia Ramirez drove in another.

Dallas Mould and Sierra Garcia both had an RBI, and Katie Dadasovich scored two runs.

Danielle Deerinck went the distance.

Manteca next takes on East Union April 15.

Freshman
East Union 16, Enochs 1

Haleigh Castner was outstanding yet again, tossing a five-inning no-hitter and striking out six.

Enochs’ lone run was unearned.

Kailee Nuding was 4 for 4, and Mariah Perez was 1 for 2 with an RBI and made a spectacular play in left.

The Pages (3-0 VOL, 14-0) host Sonora Tuesday.

Sierra 3, Sonora 0 (Thursday)

Briana Paule (8th minute), Jacquelle Revives (38th) and Niki Walden (19th) all scored for the undefeated Timberwolves (6-0 VOL, 12-1).
