The Vos brothers surely left their mark in Ripon Christian’s 57-47 boys basketball victory over Patterson Wednesday in the Oakdale Tournament.

Danny Vos, a sophomore point guard, erupted for a varsity career high 25 points to go with eight assists, and big brother Logan, a 6-foot-4 senior forward, drained all three of his 3-point attempts and scored 23 of his own.

That’s 48 points between two players — one more than Patterson.

The offensive display was welcomed by RC’s head coach, Ron Vander Molen, after the Knights (5-5) sputtered in a 46-35 opening-round loss to Riverbank. Each Vos was held to nine points in Tuesday’s contest.

“As a team we couldn’t hit anything (Tuesday), but they came out (Wednesday) and shot pretty well,” Vander Molen said.

The first half was Danny Vos’ show to orchestrate. He sank three of his four 3’s in the first quarter, and his 22 first-half points helped RC build a 36-20 halftime lead.

Over the final two quarters, Vos accounted for all but six of Ripon Christian’s points, scoring 15.

Jewan Jackson led Patterson with 17 points.

Ripon Christian faces Johansen of Modesto at 5 p.m. tonight for the consolation championship. Then it’s onto its Southern League schedule, which tips off with defending champion Mariposa next Tuesday.

“We’ve been talking about putting it together and getting to a certain point, and we havne’t done that yet,” Vander Molen said. “We’ve been inconsistent, and I don’t think we’ve had many close games.”
