Ripon Christian got off to a quality start and it never let up, posting a one-sided 6-0 blowout on Turlock Christian Thursday in Southern League play.
Jon Vander Molen notched a pair of goals to lead the Knights, who also got goals from Dylan Van Vliet, Christian Manes, Scott Faure and Kendell Witt in the win.
Ripon Christian expanded on its 2-0 halftime lead, pouring in three goals over a 2-minute span, putting the contest out of reach 10 minutes into the second half. Vander Molen’s second goal was the final of the contest when he landed a shot in the back of the net from just over 25-yards out.
Goalie Jacob Meeuwse controlled the net for Ripon Christian, holding Turlock Christian scoreless while earning a pair of saves.
Ripon Christian (2-10 SL) will be back on the pitch Monday when they host Delhi High at 3:45 p.m.
Cesar Nuno scored two goals, while Jared Ratto, Tamim Shetab, Justin Cardoza, Alex Wever and senior Tim Combley all scored one.
Combley came out of his keeper position after a first-half shutout to join his teammates in the scoring barrage.
Ratto handled the second half of the shot, turning away two shots in defense.
Ripon will try and stay hot when they travel to Riverbank to take on the Bruins Monday in their second-to-last game of the TVL schedule.
