WATERFORD — Ripon Christian is going into its first Sac-Joaquin Section playoff appearance in 16 years with some serious momentum behind it.
The Knights won their sixth straight and avenged a previous loss to Waterford on Monday in a 10-4 triumph that forces a second-place tie between the two in the Southern League.
Ripon Christian (10-3, 17-7 overall) had a chance to end it early with a 10-0 lead but gave up four runs in the bottom of the fifth. Katie O’Leary smashed a double and a triple, finishing 2 for 3 with two runs and three RBIs. Pitcher Madison DeGraaf racked Liz Thomas each scored twice.
The Knights end the regular season today at Le Grand.
