The Ripon High girls basketball team opened the massive West Coast Jamboree Monday in Brentwood with its second loss of the season, as Brook McGrath led Crater (Central Point, Ore.), 47-30.

Kendra Contente and Rachel Rodriguez had six apiece for Ripon (7-2).

“Crater is a good team with good guards, good posts and size all around,” Ripon coach George Contente said. “We hung in there as best we could, but after we made a little run we just ran out of gas.”

Ripon faces Corcoran at 11:30 a.m. today at Heritage High. The 16-team Sapphire Division, which also includes Weston Ranch, is one of 16 brackets in the West Coast Jamboree.
