Ripon Christian’s girls soccer team rallied back from an early deficit in a big way Tuesday, trouncing visiting Denair 7-2 in Southern League action.
Denair netted the match’s first two goals before the Knights (2-1-1, 7-4-1 overall) finally came alive with about 10 minutes remaining in the first half. Teagan Manus sparked the comeback with a goal assisted by Kaylie Colyn.
Still trailing 2-1 by halftime, Manus and the Knights were just getting started.
The sophomore striker finished with a hat trick. Adri and Natalie Van Groningen and Colyn each ended up with a goal and an assist. Rachael Kinser added a goal, and keeper Brittany Petlansky notched one save.
“The girls came out with a renewed purpose of working together as a team in the second half,” Ripon Christian coach Kevin Tameling said.
