Dennis Wells came away Tuesday pleased with the overall efforts of the East Union High girls golf team.
Against Kimball, his Lancers rolled to a 242-325 Valley Oak League victory at the Tracy Golf and Country Club.
“I could see that we’re improving,” Wells said.
Leading the way was Jenny Ketner, who earned medalist honor with her 8-over-par 45 in the front nine of the Tracy Golf and Country Club.
Angelique Cardoza shot a 47 while Brittney Ugalino and Kaylee Nuding fired 48 and 49, respectively.
Alyssa Telles, in addition, carded a 53.
On Thursday, East Union (3-1) will host Manteca at the Manteca Park Golf Course.
Oakdale 242, Sierra 292
Mabel Wong shot par at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club to pace the first-place Mustangs past Sierra on Tuesday.
The Timberwolves (1-3) were led by Brianne Lenoci, who finished with a 55 in the nine-hole par 36 course.
Tora Hohn (56) finished one back while Melanie Kiesel and Holly Cook carded 57 and 59, respectively.
Oakdale (5-0) was led by Nicole Stastny’s 48.
Valley Foothill League
Bret Harte 169, Ripon 191
Haylee Fanin and Sienna Starck continued to play consistently for the Indians.
Fanin, in fact, shared medalist honors with Bret Harte’s Emaline Ellsworth. Both fired 8-over-par 39s at the nine-hole Jack Tone Golf Course.
Starck shot 45, and was followed by Cyndil Alcala (53) and Erin Weaver (54).
Ripon coach Eric Dambrosio was pleased with vast improvement of Weaver. “She did a 20-stroke turnaround from her previous outing,” he said.
Bret Harte was helped out by the efforts of Melissa Spence (42), Jaymie Henry Ford (43) and Riley Hillman (45).
The Indians (0-4) will play Riverbank on Thursday at the Escalon municipal course.
Calaveras 213, Ripon Christian 230
The Knights’ Jenny Wickham claimed medalist honor against Calaveras at the La Contenta Golf Course.
She shot a 46 in the front nine of the par 35 course.
“I knew the match (at La Contenta) would be a struggle, especially for our beginners,” said RC coach Lynette Vos. “This was their first time playing a regulation-length golf course.”
Kayla Sikkma carded a 55 for the Knights.
“I’m really pleased with the play of Jenny and Kayla,” Vos said.
RC (0-5) has a bye on Thursday but will play in the midseason tournament at Micke Grove on Monday.
