Cherish Burks plated three runs from the leadoff spot to spark East Union’s softball team to a 10-2 victory over Liberty Ranch of Galt Monday at Northgate Softball Complex.

Jordan Vinson doled out two hits and drove in two runs. Jillian Costa finished 2 for 2 and pitched two innings in relief.

Kelsey Emerson got the win from the pitcher’s circle, scattering four hits in five innings of work.

Freshman shortstop Tea Solario played well defensively at shortstop, as did Jessica Campa at third, according to coach Brian Goulart.

Still undefeated through three preleague games, the Lancers will next host Franklin tonight back at Northgate.
