Lancers hit three HRs in combined perfect game

Sophomore pitchers Mikayla Bongi, Alexis Erich and Delaney Pamplin combined for a three-inning perfect game, as East Union crushed Edison 11-0 to begin the St. Mary’s Tournament at Stockton’s Arnaiz Softball Complex on Thursday.

“The girls were excited for opening day,” East Union coach Brian Goulart said. “Each and every one of our girls got a hit so it was really fun. We know we have some competitive games coming up and it start (today) with Tokay.”

East Union and Tokay will start at 1:30.

Oregon-bound senior Cherish Burks set the tone with a leadoff homer and finished with three hits. Sam Owens belted a grand slam, Taylor Ward swatted a three-run jack and freshman Izabella Owen added two knocks in her varsity debut. Third-year veteran Michelle Castro contributed two hits, including a triple off the top of the fence.



East Union 8, Ceres 0

Haylee Agueda twirled a two-hit shutout from the pitcher’s circle, while Madison Anchundo clubbed a two-run home run to highlight the offense.
