Lathrop High boys win Tom Moore Relays

Isaias Hunter won the high jump and was second in the long jump Saturday to help lead the Lathrop boys to first place in the Tom Moore Relays at Sierra High School

Hunter’s mark in the high jump was 6 feet, 4 inches while going 19-4 in the long jump. Teammate Tremayne Willis was fifth (18-5 ½) in the long jump. 

Elijah Hunter brought home a gold and a bronze for the Spartans, winning the shot put (44-6 ½) and finishing third (114-8) in the discus.

Lathrop won the 4x100-meter relay (44.85), was second in the 4x400 relay (3:34.81) and was fourth in the 800 sprint medley (1:44.93). Galven Munoz was third for the Spartans in the 400 (54.78) with teammate Joseph Ormonde finishing fifth (2:16.14) in the 800 as did Tremayne Willis in the long jump (18-5 ½). 

Sierra finished fifth and was paced by Garet Stone with a second-place finish in the 800 (2:13.62) and fourth-place finish (4:53.32) in the 1600. Kyle Wesley was third in the long jump for the Timberwolves (18-11) with Brandon Arreola taking fourth in the 400 (56.19) as did the Sierra 4x100 (47.03) and shuttle hurdle (37.39) relay teams.

Weston Ranch’s Alec Araquel won the 800 (2:09.24) and teammate Nicholas Curtright was third (2:14.37). The Cougars took fourth in the distance medley (11:41.17).

Andrew Wood was third in the high jump (5-8) for Ripon and teammate Darnay Mack was fifth in the long jump (18-5 ½).   

Candice Lao was second in the 800 (2:36.69) and Sierra teammate  Savannah Verschuur was close by at fifth (2:41.66) to help lead the Timberwolves to a third-place finish in the girls competition. 

Megan Oblin was third in the 1600 (5:49.86) and teammate McKenna Albrecht was fourth in the shot put (28-8 ½).  In the relays, the Timberwolves were third in the shuttle hurdle (41.03) and fourth in the distance medley (13:51.89) and 4x400 (4:42.43). 

Ripon’s Ellie Waters was fourth in the 1600 (5:52.78) and teammates Jessica Debow and Makayla Buie finished tied for fifth in the high jump (4 feet). The Indians were third in the 800 sprint medley (2:06.17). 

Lathrop won the shuttle hurdle (38.78) and was third in the 4x100 relay (55.04). 

The meet was dedicated to Lloyd and Lori Mackey, longtime supporters of Sierra athletic, activity and academic programs.
