LHS golfers combine for season low

TRACY — Lathrop High’s boys golf team carded a season-best score of 239 behind a pair of 40s from co-medalists Christian Guzman and Robby Horrocks at Old River Golf Course on Wednesday.

Manteca only fielded three players and took the Valley Oak League loss.

Horrocks, who sank two birdie putts, was one of four Spartans to score season lows. The others were Andrew Lorentz (49), Curtis Kimbro (52) and Joseph Imbat (58) Lathrop improved to 207 in the VOL and 4-8 overall.

Ray Gallardo led the visiting Buffaloes (2-8, 3-10) with a 43.


Sierra 251, Kimball 264

Sierra (6-3) overcame Kimball medalist Chris Maxfield’s 43 at Manteca Park Golf Course.

Scoring for the Timberwolves were David Ketner (46), Nathaniel Livingston (47), Dillon St. Claire (50), Evan Brazell (52) and Jackie Thai (53).



Manteca 9, Oakdale 0

Second-place Manteca (11-1, 13-3) crushed Oakdale by the same score for a second straight day.

Kyle Thornburg, Yok Ehy Ma, Lenard Gutierrez and Matt Pabla each won 6-0, 6-0 in their singles contests. Solman Aniss dispatched Spencer Keyser in the No. 1 match, and No. 3 Si Hao Tang outlasted Devin Odom, 6-3, 6-3.

Manteca’s top doubles team of Dhillon Patel and Kevin Lin won 6-4, 6-0. Kurtis Ma and Cameron Gonzales contributed a 6-0, 6-2 win. Jeremiah  Lucero, playing his first match, teamed with Rey Anaya for a 6-0, 6-0 shutout.
