Elizabeth Tolbert held off East Union’s Maddie Yslava to win a hard-earned three-set match and highlighted an 8-1 victory for visiting Manteca on Tuesday.
Tolbert won the No. 1 singles match, 6-4, 6-7, 10-8. East Union (5-7) was able to squeeze out a point at No. 3 singles, as Jenna Zuniga knocked off Julia Saling, 6-4, 7-5.
It was an otherwise routine outing for second-place Manteca (9-2).
Sealy McAdams claimed the second singles match, 6-4, 6-1. Fechi Nkwocha (6-1, 6-2), Katie Inderbitzin (6-1, 6-0) and Lejla Pepic (6-2, 6-0) made quick work of their opponents.
Manteca’s top doubles team of Alondra Avila and Kaitlyn Hoyer defeated Fabiola Magana and Haley Swingler, 6-3, 6-1. Freshmen Rubel Dehal and Gladis Sandoval won, 6-3, 6-3. Haylee Both and Taylor Corona were in a competitive No. 3 doubles match with Matharin Lee and Natalie Karim, finishing on the winning end , 6-3, 7-5.
