Manteca rolls in tune-up for EU

STOCKTON — The Manteca girls soccer team dominated in a tune-up for its big match with East Union, amassing six goals in the first half on its way to a 7-0 win at Weston Ranch on Tuesday.
Alexa Mayen tallied two goals and two assists — all in the first half — for the Buffaloes (5-1-0, 13-4-0), who are in a second-place tie with East Union in the Valley Oak League. The intra-city rivalry match takes place Friday at Manteca’s Guss Schmiedt Field.
Kaitlynn Funsch also scored twice and assisted the game’s final goal to freshman Jordyn Silva. Kaley Miller and Alejandra Delgadillo added one goal apiece, and Madison Burch registered two assists.
Manteca outshot the Cougars (0-5-1, 3-12-2) 25-7, and goalie Aimee Meier collected four saves.

Lathrop 4
LATHROP — Kassandra Ceja’s four-goal effort was not enough for the injury-ravaged Spartans (0-5-1, 3-6-2).
Central Catholic (3-3, 11-7-1) led 2-1 at halftime before the floodgates were opened. Lathrop standout keeper Noelle Smith, who had been playing through an ankle injury, sat out the entire second half after picking up seven saves.
Skyler Hoy racked up six goals for the Raiders.

LE GRAND — Make it 56 consecutive Southern League matches without a loss for the first-place Knights (5-0-1, 8-5-1), who got goals from Madi de Graaf, Bethany Silveira, Alysia Templeman and Rachel Oosterman. Brittany Bloemhof had a pair of assists.
In the frosh-soph game, Adri Arias recorded a hat trick in a 10-0 win for Ripon Christian.
