Katie Kim is back in the semifinal round of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II Individual Tournament, and she’ll be joined by two of her Manteca High teammates.

Chloe Marquis and Emma Ngo are in the running for the doubles championship, while Kim is defending her 2021 crown today at Johnson Ranch Racquet Club in Roseville.

Seeded No. 1, Kim continued her dominant season Thursday with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Mira Loma’s Rain Kim and 6-1, 6-0 win over Rodriguez’s Bella Connerley. Kim faces No. 4 Melia Simons of Rio Americano this morning. Simons held off Sierra’s Tanya Sharma 7-5, 6-2 in her first-round match.

Rio Americano has two players in the semifinals, as unseeded Gina Gerety of Rio Americano upset No. 3 Michael Schwarzenberg 6-4, 6-0 in the quarterfinals. She’ll take on No. 2 Clarissa Sutami of Vista del Lago, whom Kim defeated in the final last year.

Marquis and Ngo were awarded the No. 4 seed and knocked off Pioneer’s Abby and Maddy Findley 6-2, 6-2 and Los Banos’ Melina Mejia and Hailee Moore, 6-3, 6-2. The Buffaloes tandem squares off with Vacaville’s Nia Macay and Gabby Perry in the semifinal.
