Brooke Riley’s round didn’t end as well as she had hoped during East Union’s Valley Oak League dual match at Oakdale Golf and Country Club on Tuesday.

All in all, her bogey on hole 9 does little to mar what was an otherwise outstanding outing for the two-time VOL MVP and 2013 CIF State Tournament qualifier. Her 4-under 32 anchored East Union’s lowest score of the season and 230-290 win over host Oakdale.

“Yeah, I got on her for that (bogey),” East Union co-coach Dennis Wells joked.

He was understandably in a jovial mood after seeing his 6-0 squad show signs of improvement. Backing Riley’s 32 were Chloe Cardenas (47), Natalie Cowan (48), Allie Tajii (51) and Rebeca Leonard (52).

Delanie Donahue paced Oakdale with a 48.

“The coaches were real happy with what the team did today,” Wells said. “They’re finally playing to thehir potential a little bit, and Brooke shooting 4-under on that course is pretty impressive.”

Sierra 255 Manteca 284

At Manteca Park Golf Course, McKenna Doyle finished with a 48 to edge Sierra teammate Kayla Wilson by a stroke for medalist honors. Manteca’s Katie Hankins was also in the hunt with a 50.

Sierra (7-1) had all six of its players check in with scores lower than 55, as Arlena Gavino (52), Legacy Barnes (53) and Krystal Rayevich (53) also pushed the leader. Danika Hunt and Isabel Garcia-Mendez had a 54 and 56 for the Buffaloes, respectively.
