Brooke Riley was two strokes shy of tying her own record at the Manteca Park Golf Course front nine in a Valley Oak League dual match with Sierra.

East Union’s standout missed birdie putts on the seventh and eighth holes, settling for a still-impressive five-under 32 while leading the Lancers’ 229-252 win.

She’ll now set out to win the individual title for a third time in today’s Sierra Invitational held at Manteca Park Golf course. The Lancers have claimed the last seven team championships.

Sierra’s McKenna Doyle finished 5-over for the second lowest score Tuesday. Backing up Riley’s 32 for East Union, which improved to 11-0 in the VOL, were Allie Tajii (46), Rebeca Leonard (49), Brittany Conjin (50), Chloe Cardenas (52) and Natalie Cardenas (52).

Sierra (8-5) got contributions from Legacy Barnes (49), Arlena Gavino (51), Kayla Wilson (55) and Bryanna Gavino (55).
