RIPON — Ripon Christian’s girls soccer team has rediscovered its groove following a three-match losing streak in Southern Athletic League play.
The Knights have won back-to-back, upending Gustine 5-1 Friday to stay locked with Waterford for third place and the final Sac-Joaquin Section playoff berth.
The regular season ends Monday with Ripon Christian (9-3-1, 12-8-1 overall) having the more favorable matchup with Delhi (3-7-3, 4-9-3), while Waterford plays host to league champion Orestimba.
Alysia Templeman set the tone for Ripon Christian’s dominant effort against Gustine, scoring the first of her two goals in the third minute. Bethany Silveira assisted both, finishing with three to go with a goal.
Ripon Christian rolled to a 4-0 halftime lead after Madi de Graaf’s header goal on Rachel Oosterman’s corner kick. Oosterman tacked on the final goal for RC, and Gustine converted on its only shot of the match in the final two minutes. Paige Vos was instrumental in anchoring the defense for the Knights.
