Paige Vos and Joshua Tatton will be attending Dordt College.

The two Ripon Christian High seniors signed letters of intent Wednesday to play volleyball and soccer, respectively, at the familiar Iowa campus located at Sioux Center.

Dordt has a longtime connection with RC that includes Vos’ parents Mark and Karalee Vos. Mark Vos is also an assistant coach for the Knights boys’ basketball program under Mark Hofman.

“They made the decision to play (sports) at the next level,” said Ripon Christian AD Kevin Tameling during the joint signing of Vos and Tatton.

They were joined by classmates, teammates, coaches, administrators, teachers, friends and family, including Questa and Tom Kaps of Tracy — Tatton’s folks.

“I was impressed with my visit (in September),” said Tatton, who is looking into Sports Management as a major.

He’s been playing soccer since age 6 and club teams by 10. Tatton, who has been at RC since his freshman year, was a two-time MVP for the Knights at goal keeper — he’ll play that position at Dordt — and a two-time all-Southern League selection.

Tatton considered other colleges along the way, including Trinity Christian, Liberty and Northwestern.

Paige Vos is joining one of the top NAIA volleyball programs.

The Reformers under head coach Chad Hanson are perennial championship contenders, finishing this past season with a 34-8 overall record, 14-2 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference.

“I liked everything about Dordt, from the campus, coaches and teammates,” said Vos, who also looked at other colleges including Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo.

She’s also looking forward to seeing her brother Tristean Vos, who is currently a junior at Dordt.

Paige Vos is still considering her major. “It’ll be either Sociology or Psychology,” she said.
