TRACY – Nico Ilardi fired a 14-over-par 86 Monday in the Tracy Invitational Golf Tournament.
The nine-team event was played at the Tracy Golf & Country Club’s challenging 18-hole course – featured here is diverse terrain and tree-lined fairways, with water coming into play on nine of 18 holes.
Ilardi, who is a junior, led Ripon High to fourth place in the tourney, finishing behind the winner, Lincoln (418), followed by Granada of Livermore (420) and host Tracy High (426).
As a team, the Indians shot a combined score of 469 – Cade McCusker (89) was three behind Ilardi while Kenny Johnson (94), Aidan Nilsson (98), Gabe Anderson (102) and Jacob Baird (109) rounded out the scoring -- just ahead of Trans-Valley League rival Escalon (480).
Ripon, Escalon and Hughson, which also competed in the Tracy tourney, are awaiting next Monday’s TVL showdown at Diablo Grande Golf & Country Club in Patterson.
“Those were our worse scores for 18 holes,” said Indians coach Chris Musseman. “It was super windy today and everyone struggled.”
