Only one of Friday’s matches between Ripon and Hughson’s co-ed tennis teams needed to be decided in a third set.

The Ripon girls’ No. 2 doubles team of Alyssa Demara and Khiara Cardoza dropped their first set against Christina Blank and Sydney Chiesa, but they ended up outlasting the Huskies’ duo 5-7, 6-1, 10-5.

Ripon’s mixed doubles team of Will Hollingsworth and Teresa Martinez recorded a 6-2, 6-4 victory, and Shannon Wesley and Hailey Johnson (No. 1 girls doubles) of the Indians cruised by Reva Merrium and Alyssa Buckner 6-2, 6-0.

The Indians’ boys’ doubles squads each earned straight-set victories.

Nathan Machado and Ian Flanders (No. 1) handled their opponents 6-0, 6-0, while the No. 2 boys’ doubles team of Isaiah Sanchez and Davis Armstrong beat Carson Boyce and Jamie Jackson 6-3, 6-2.

In singles, the Ripon boys’ No. 1 Jeremy Parks dropped Kevin Wix 6-2, 6-1 and No. 2 Bryce Coutrakis beat the Huskies’ Christian Ramos 6-0, 6-0. Savannah Bickle, Ripon’s No. 1 girls’ singles player, won 6-1, 6-1 and the girls’ No. 2 singles player Maddison Flanders picked up a 6-0, 6-2 victory.
