Led by Trent Vink’s 10th-place finish, the Ripon boys golf team took second Monday in the John Montano Invitational held at Merced Golf & Country Club.
The Indians scored a 330, trailing tourney champ Turlock’s impressive 297. Only the top four scores on each team were counted. Ripon Christian ended in a two-way tie for fifth with a 357 in the 11-team tournament.
Contributing to Ripon’s runner-up effort was Jeremie Little with an 80, Chad Flory an 84 and Jacob Baird an 86.
For Ripon Christian, Wyatt Hayes turned in the seventh-place individual score of 78. Camdan Indelicato contributed with an 84 Nick Te Velde and Trey Van Groningen added a 97 and 98, respectively.
