SONORA — Ripon punctuated a big week Thursday with another close win in the foothills, edging Summerville 202-206 at the nine-hole Phoenix Lake Golf Course.

The Indians improved to 5-4 in the Valley Foothill League North Division. On Tuesday, they sneaked out of Sonora with a five-stroke victory against Sonora High at Mountain Springs Golf Course.

“Both very tricky golf course,” Ripon coach Eric Dambrosio said. “I am proud of the girls and the progress we are making. We worked really hard on short game this week and it shows. We are cleaning up the shots around the greens and it is bringing our scores down.”

Bianca Toledo and Myra Toledo carded a 48 and 49, respectively, to lead Ripon. Kassidy Isham finished with a 52, and Haley Meece added a 53.

Jamie Hyder finished 10-over 45 for Summerville (5-3). Natasha Garcia and Emily Walters each scored a 50, and Rachel Walters capped scoring with a 61.
