VALLEY OAK LEAGUE

Sonora 3, Manteca 0

The host Wildcats (5-0, 14-3) were in control from start to finish in their sweep (25-16, 25-9, 25-15) of Manteca.

Beth Aschenbrenner tallied 17 assists, while Aryanna Martinez led the Buffaloes (2-3, 4-5) with seven kills. Jasmine Basuil and Chelsea Gomez finished with 10 and eight digs, respectively.

“It was a combination of (Sonora) being a very good team and us making too many unforced errors,” Manteca coach Kevin Bolding said. “When we keep the ball in play we’re OK.”
