Ripon High’s girls golf team is off to an 0-5 start in dual matches, but it made up some ground in the Valley Foothill League North Division’s midseason tournament Monday

Paced by Haylee Fannin’s medalist score of 12-over 84 at Micke Grove Golf Course in Lodi, the Lady Indians carded a 462 for a third-place team finish.

Escalon and Bret Harte went 1 and 2 with 420 and 426, respectively. Bret Harte’s Emaline Ellsworth was the runner-up, falling a stroke shy of the leader.

Ripon Christian placed seventh out of seven, but Jenny Wickham turned in the third best score with an 88. Sierra Starck of Ripon finished eighth with an even 100.

Rounding out the team score for Ripon were Kailyn Bradlye and Erin Wever with 139 each. For Ripon Christian, Kayla Sikkema (129), Kaitlyn Groshong (135) and Stacie Darretta (146) factored into the score.

“We have struggled this season, but today the girls played smart and stayed out of trouble,” Ripon coach Eric Dambrosio said. I am very proud of how hard the girls have worked on their games.”
