Manteca made quick work of Ripon in Valley Oak League girls volleyball action on Monday, rolling to a 25-18, 25-13, 25-13 sweep.

Karlie Spohn made her presence felt at the net with 10 kills and four blocks. Libero Abbey Kadillak fired 17 service points while leading the defense with 10 digs. She also had four assists. 

Setter Arielle Chandler finished with 12 assists, five digs and five kills. Katelyn Gross swatted five kills, and Sydney Navarro served seven points and two aces. 


BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Manteca 2, Weston Ranch 0

Manteca 2, Weston Ranch 0

The Buffaloes welcomed Weston Ranch for two best-of-three matches on Monday, sweeping the first 25-14, 25-19 and the second, 25-13, 25-15.

Camden Steckler piled up 12 kills, two blocks and six aces in the two matches combined. Alejandro Tornero contributed 10 kills and six aces. Bryan Alvarez handed out 17 assists, while Connor Navarro had seven. 


Lathrop 3, Mountain House 0

Lathrop (6-1) tallied its sixth straight win, dispatching the host Mustangs, 25-15, 25-13, 25-20.

Rael Carmesis spearheaded the Spartans attack with 26 assists. Reniel Crisotomo (five kills, ace), Christopher Millan (three aces, kill), Jaedin Mellion (three aces, two kills) and Arman John (eight kills, two aces) also stood out in the sweep.


BOYS GOLF

Ripon Christian 185, Manteca 241

The once-beaten Knights tuned up for their big showdown with reigning VOL champion Oakdale, which visits Spring Creek Golf & Country Club today.

On Monday, they defeated Manteca at Jack Tone Golf Course behind Camdan Indelicato’s even 31. Wyatt Hayes was the runner-up with a 34, Cade Van Groningen contributed a 37, Dylan Koolhaas had a 41 and Nick Te Velde turned in a 42.

The Buffaloes were led by Karson Condit’s 42. Connor DePrater (46), Reese George (47) and Andrew Robison (59) also contributed to the team score.


Ripon 180, Escalon 207

Trent Vink finished 2-over-33 at Jack Tone Golf Course, leading five Indians who scored higher than Escalon’s top player.

Jacob Baird added a 35, Kenneth Johnson and Jeremie Little each had a 37 and Evan McKeon scored a 38. Bryce McKinsey carded a 40 for Escalon. 

Ripon next hosts Kimball at Spring Creek on Wednesday. 


BOYS TENNIS

Beyer at Lathrop

Alfred Tolentino (2-6, 3-6), Kurt Valerio (2-6, 2-6) and Everett Spellman (0-6, 0-6) competed for the host Spartans on Monday. 


JV girls volleyball

Manteca 2, Ripon 1

The Buffaloes notched a hard-earned 25-19, 23-25, 15-9 victory on the road.

Rayana Ladd and Carsyn Van Zant paced the attack with five and four kills, respectively. Jess Almeida recorded six aces, seven assists and three digs. Jill Santos anchored the defense with 10 digs. 

Emily Interbitzin (five digs, ace), Araceli Rubio (four points, four assists, two kills) and Michaela Singh (five aces, two kills, three digs) also keyed the win.
