ROUNDUP: East Union’s Pale, Ingalls lead area golfers at VOL finale

 Led by top-five individual finishes from Arianna Pale and Jessica Ingalls, East Union’s girls golf team finished as runner-up to Oakdale in the Valley Oak League Championships at Micke Grove Golf Links on Thursday.

Sophomore Isabella Cortes paced Oakdale with the was low-medalist score of 78. She also garnered league MVP honors. The Mustangs outscored East Union 466-507 in the league finale. Manteca took third with a 533, followed by Mountain House (565), Sierra (565) and Patterson (619).

Pale placed third with a 13-over-par 85, and Ingalls took fourth with a 91. Fellow Lancer Kaylee Brown rounded out the top 10 with a 104. Alizae Farias (108) and Kaydence Herbert (119) made up the rest of East Union’s score.

Emily Camara led Manteca with a 95, good for sixth place. Clare Crook (106), Alesia Harris (109), Rebecca Navarro (111) and Layla Flannigan (112). were the Buffaloes’ other scoring contributors.

Alyssa Suarez carded a 102 to lead Sierra. She was backed by Kate Marie de Belen (110), Emma Basile (112), Noah Ungua (115) and Hannah Williamson (126)

Ingalls, Pale and Camara all made all-league.

Up next is the Sac-Joaquin Section Division III Tournament at River Oaks Golf Course on Oct. 27.


Ripon 155, Hughson 162

Cameron Seefeldt shot even-par 31 for the victorious Indians at Ripon Golf Club.

Grace Ortmann added a 36, Grace Ortmann a 36 and Brynn Daley a 45.


Frosh girls volleyball

Manteca 2, East Union 1

Teah Galvez hammered five kills in the 25-22, 21-25, 11-15 loss for East Union.

Addie Souza added three kills and three aces. Breanna Trevino pitched in four kills and four assists. Regina Villela-Lara had two kills and two blocks.
