ROUNDUP: Lancers hit 14 3s in season opener

MODESTO — East Union’s boys basketball team started its season off hot Friday night, torching Downey for 14 3-pointers in a 79-47 victory.
The Lancers outscored the Knights 24-8 in the second quarter to open up a 46-21 lead.
Lydell King led the onslaught with 16 points on the strength of four made 3s. Eric Victoria contributed 11 points, and Lane Cefalu added 10.

The Eddie Morales Era began with a blowout win for the Timberwolves.
Kendrick Currey and Ryan Borgeson poured in 15 and 14 points, respectively.

LODI — Aaron Silva gave the visiting Cougars the lead with a goal assisted by Kevin Urrutia Hernandez in the second half, but Tokay was able to salvage the tie with the late equalizer.
