PATTERSON — The Lathrop High cross country team showed well in the Western Athletic Conference North Division meet held Friday at Patterson High.
Taimane Lowery placed first in the varsity girls race to help the Spartans win the meet. The boys took fourth, with Nathan Puck and Aron Camacho finishing third and fourth, respectively.
The season ends with the conference final next Tuesday at Ceres.
BOYS SWIMMING
Sierra 63, Ripon 62 (B)
Host Sierra had the numbers to overcome Ripon, which had winners in nine of 11 events.
Jordan Shinn stood out for the Timberwolves, winning the 50-yard freestyle while taking second in the 100 free. Gabriel Monasterio added two individual second places (100 fly, 100 back). Zach Van Zwaluenberg (second, 200 free; third, 50 free) and Moises Alvarado (second, 200 IM; third, 100 back) also contributed to the win.

Ripon 116, Sierra 53
Jennifer Graves was a double-winner for the Timberwolves, taking first in the 100 fly and 500 free. Lauren Ellis took first in the 100 back.
