Manteca's girls soccer team continued its busy pre-league schedule on Monday, notching a third clean sheet in as many games while Esmeralda Ochoa and Caitlyn Wong anchored the attack.
The reigning Sac-Joaquin Section Division III champion won at Ripon Christian, 6-0.
Ochoa helped get the Buffaloes started, assisting Ashleen Kalar's early goal. She and Wong each finished with two goals and one assist.
Alexia Alva tallied Manteca's second goal set up by Sienna Jones, who had two assists. Jordyn Silva also contributed an assist.
The Buffaloes next host Lathrop Thursday at 6 p.m.
JV SOFTBALL
Ripon Christian 15, Sierra 3 (5)
The Knights (1-2) exploded for six runs in each of the second and third innings and coasted to their first win of the season. Freshmen pitchers Teagan Chapman (two IP, three Ks) and Shelby Terra (2 2/3 IP, K) combined for the win, scattering six hits.
They were also big contributors offensively. Terra was 4 for 4 with a double, two runs and two RBIs. Chapman went 3 for 3 with a double, two runs and two RBIs. Kailee Alejandre set the table from the top of the order, finishing 2 for 3 with a double, two runs, two RBIs and two steals.
Maclaira Camper drove in three runs while batting 2 for 3. Taylor Postma (two RBIs), Emma DeBruyn (2 for 3, two RBIs) and Serina Bogin (2 for 3, two runs) joined in on the 16-hit barrage.
