Ryan McIntyre faced two batters over the minimum Wednesday, as Sierra routed Kimball on the road 11-0 in the Valley Oak League baseball contest.
The junior allowed just two hits while striking out eight. The game went the full seven innings, with the Timberwolves (2-3 VOL, 9-6 overall) scoring five runs in the final two.
McIntyre was supported by an 11-hit barrage spearheaded by Troy Morrow, who went 3 for 4 with a double, two steals and three runs. Jacob Morrow went 2 for 3 with two runs scored.
Angel Valdez contributed a solo homer and a sacrifice fly. Nate Guevara tagged an RBI triple, and Wyatt Bauer knocked in one with a double.
Sierra will look to finish a three-game series sweep of Kimball (0-2, 2-12) at home Friday.
GIRLS SWIMMING
Sierra 134, East Union 30
The Timberwolves took first place in every event and dominated the VOL at East Union.
Jennifer Graves was the top points getter with wins in the 50- and 50-yard freestyles. She was also on the winning 200 medley and 200 free relays.
Keira Brink joined Graves on the medley and freestyle relays while placing first in the 200 free and second in the 50 free. Bianca Fraser doubled in the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly.
Lauren Ellis (200 free), Abigail Fraser (100 backstroke) and Kaylee Hayne (100 breaststroke) each won one event.
Sierra 52, East Union 52
Noah Sandoval, Erik Johnson, James Danley and Travis Moore won the 400 free relay to force the deadlock.
Johnson also won the 200 free, and Sandoval took first in the 100 fly.
BOYS TENNIS
Lathrop 8, Grace Davis 1
Nos. 3 and 4 singles players Adam Godinez and Eli Poklay won their matches in straight sets during the Western Athletic Conference match in Modesto.
Gabriel Godinez knocked off Chris Munoz 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 1 spot. Aram Baltazar (6-1, 6-1), Sage Coates (6-0, 6-3) and Niko Ruiz (6-1, 6-4) also swept in singles.
All three doubles matches were decided in third sets. The top tandem of Gurmatt Singh and Noah Talania came back to beat Martin Cortez and Anakin Cooper, 1-6, 7-5, 10-7. The No. 3 team of Supandeep Singh and Jack Torres O’Callaghan held off Ceasar Chaponan and David Salgado, 6-7 (5), 10-8.
Steven Nguyen and Matthew Arriaga dropped the No. 2 contest 7-5, 6-7 (5), 6-10.
JV girls swimming
Sierra 94, East Union 25
Hailey Danel (100 IM), Brooke Maldonado (50 fly), Abigail Garcia (100 free), Peyton Nultemeier (50 back) and Jewels Shinn (50 breast) each won an individual event for Sierra.
The Timberwolves also took first in the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay.
