ROUNDUP: RC volleyball tunes up for big match with revenge win over Hughson

Ripon Christian’s girls volleyball team avenged one of its Trans Valley League defeats on Tuesday, downing Hughson at home, 24-26, 25-20, 25-20, 25-10.

Senior middle Brynn Bohn led the Knights (6-2 TVL, 15-7 overall) with 14 kills, three blocks and three aces. Paige Van Hofwegen and Morgan Schenk contributed eight kills apiece.

Setter Alanna Blanco accumulated 37 assists and 13 digs, while tallying three aces and three blocks. Tatum Sonke racked up 13 digs.

Ripon Christian next hots first-place Ripon on Oct. 14.

 

Lathrop 3, Grace Davis 2

Lathrop (9-0, 13-5 overall) is now set up well to repeat as Western Athletic Conference champion after knocking off second-place Grace Davis (6-2, 8-7) on the road Monday, 25-23, 21-25, 25-20, 22-25, 16-15.

Ayden Petroff produced a double-double with 26 assists and 10 service aces. Siliana Fa’ataualoafa fired 13 kills to go with two aces, three blocks and five digs.

Erin Chunn (seven kills, four aces, four digs), Shakara Porter (three kills, two blocks) and Breanna Wiseman (two kills three blocks) were also productive on the front row. Jadore Dixon (five digs, two aces) and Justine Mabutas (three digs, two aces) led the back row.

 

GIRLS GOLF

Ripon 151, Orestimba 188

Cameron Seefeldt shot 9-over 36 to earn low medalist honors in the TVL match held at St. Stanislaus Golf Course.

Brynn Daley and Eve Toledo each contributed a 38, and Grace Ortmann had a 39.

 

JV girls volleyball

Lathrop 2, Grace Davis 0

Lathrop cruised 25-17, 25-11 behind Audrina Fisher and Andrea Lemus, who each finished with four kills and three aces.

Cassidy Fa’ali’i added five assists, three aces and a kill. Alexza Bringas handed out six assists, and Lilyana Murillo picked up seven digs.

 

Frosh girls volleyball

Lathrop 2, Grace Davis 0

Juliet Tara fired 12 service aces while dishing out 11 assists, and Lathrop held on for the 25-16, 25-19 victory.

Zakia Booker pitched in with four aces, two kills and two digs. Ne’Myah Belion and Lanayah Denson each had three kills.
